the brief
bass bin sessions is a brighton-based filmed live music platform, built around independent artists performing in characterful independent venues across the city. noor ayoub brought me in originally to design a logo for the project. two years later i'm running the full creative operation.
the results
subscriber growth up 391% year on year, with +565 new subscribers in the last 28 days alone - 328% above the previous period. 1,503 instagram followers, 78.4k reach over the tracked period, 82.2k views this year. content interactions up 59.2% year on year. 60.7% of recent instagram views coming from non-followers, showing the content is finding new audiences rather than just serving existing ones.
the approach
the logo work came first; a hand-drawn, scribbly identity built around the brand's diy roots and the physical bass bin sound system it grew from. from there the scope kept expanding. once the visual identity was locked in, noor needed someone to own the content side too, so i took on the full content production and strategy role alongside it. the work now spans the full pipeline. i plan and manage the content calendar across instagram, tiktok and youtube, co-write all social copy in a defined brand voice, produce filming briefs for noor, and lead the creative direction for each session. i also built out the brand's strategic direction - a partnership deck covering sponsorship tiers, venue outreach, and ambitions toward events like the great escape. every piece of content that goes out has come through me.
the work
the brand logo suite, icon variants and secondary logo variations, animated logo versions for video use, social media banners and profile assets across platforms. a documented visual identity with colour palette, typography and usage guidelines. a brand partnership and sponsorship deck covering mission, audience snapshot, sponsorship tiers and outreach to venues, labels and pr companies. the content full content production across instagram, tiktok and youtube — reels, carousels, tiktok-native discovery formats, youtube long-form sessions, shorts and community posts. a documented brand voice and caption system built from the full instagram archive. a notion-based content calendar covering 20+ entries across all platforms. filming briefs for on-camera talent. session days filmed and directed across multiple brighton venues including small batch coffee, hotel pelirocco, rarekind records, capsule records and brighton electric.

reflection
this one started as a logo job and turned into something much bigger. i'm proud of how the brand has developed, it has a clear identity now, a consistent voice, and a content system that works for our small team. the subscriber growth over the last year is the clearest sign that the strategy is landing. the ambition for bass bin sessions is to become a recognised name in the uk independent music scene, and it feels like it's heading that way.
